Prahladka Eastern Regional Convenor EPCH, Mr. Prasanta Kumar Padhi, Senior Manager Kolkata Branch ECGC LTD, Ms. Seema Kumar, Director MNS Credit Management Group (P) LTD Delhi, Mr. Vishwadeep Chaliha, Consultant Ideal Insurance Brokers Pvt Ltd, Mr. Sumit Sadhak Manager Foreign Exchange Department Reserve Bank of India Kolkata, Ms. Nidhi Bothra Regional Head International Trade Finance and Services ICICI Bank Kolkata and Mr. Prithwish Saha – Chief Manager -Bancassurance SME ICICI Lombard Kolkata were present.

Mrs. P.L.Sreedevi, Regional Officer, EPCH, welcomed the dignitaries and the audience who were present in the programme organized by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts. Shri. O.P. Prahladka, Eastern Regional Convenor, EPCH addressed the audience and briefed about the Council’s Activity and Objectives. This Interactive and Awareness programme was on Trade Dispute claim settlement Mechanism with ECGC, Marine Insurance Companies, Bank, RBI & Debt Recovery Companies and is to create the awareness to member exporters about the latest insurance policies and banking schemes in force to promote the export performance of handicraft entrepreneurs and exporters.

EPCH has always been at the forefront in organizing series of awareness programmes through expert faculties on pan-India basis. Mr. Prasanta Kumar Padhi, Senior Manager, Kolkata Branch, ECGC LTD made detailed presentation on the ECGC’s schemes, as to how they provide a range of credit risk insurance covers to exporters against loss in export of goods, failure of buyer’s commitment and also other unforeseen losses which were very much helpful to the exporters. Ms. Seema Kumar, Director, MNS Credit Management Group (P) LTD, from Delhi gave a presentation about the Debt Recovery and what are all the services that they are providing to the customers for the overdue invoices, credit and receivables, wherever they are located.
Also delivered the organization’s expertise on quick assessment of importer firm’s size and composite credit appraisal, based on the company’s financial statements and an overall evaluation of the importing firm’s status. Mr. Vishwadeep Chaliha, Consultant, Ideal Insurance Brokers Pvt Ltd gave a presentation on Marine Insurance which covers the loss or damage of shipment, cargo, terminals, and any transport by which the property is transferred, acquired, or held between the points of origin and up to FOB the final destination. Kolkata gave a session on the latest rules and regulations pertaining to FEMA (Foreign Exchange Maintenance Act) and its modalities which were helpful to start-ups and Exporters. Mr. Prithwish Saha – Chief Manager -Bancassurance SME, ICICI Lombard, Kolkata gave a session on various insurance policies which ICICI Lombard has floated for the benefit of Exporters. Good Number participants had attended in this event and various questions pertaining to Export Risks, ECGC schemes, ICICI Lombard policies, Marine policies and Risk Management were asked by the participants. The panellists addressed to all the queries and provided suitable guidance to the participants which were navigated by the Eastern Regional Convenor, EPCH Shri. O.P. Prahladka.
