Gurpreet Singh Panesar has raised a few important questions of Human Rights leadership and strategy:-
✅ Effective human rights leadership and strategy focus on:
Advocating for marginalized voices
Building alliances and coalitions with civil society, government, and international bodies
Using data and evidence to drive policy change
Raising awareness through education and public engagement
Promoting accountability and transparency in human rights enforcement
A strong human rights leadership strategy combines empathy, courage, and systematic action to challenge injustice.
Flexible working boosting gender equity in social work and human rights activism (anti-corruption)
✅ Flexible working practices — such as remote work, flexible hours, job sharing, and family-friendly policies — can significantly boost gender equity among social workers and human rights activists:
Enables women (and men) to better balance caregiving and professional roles
Attracts more diverse talent to the sector
Reduces burnout and improves retention, especially for women activists
Levels the playing field by supporting those who otherwise might drop out of advocacy or anti-corruption work due to rigid schedules
In anti-corruption and human rights activism, flexible working empowers more women and marginalized groups to fully participate, strengthening fairness and impact.
This historical awareness, combined with a commitment to social justice and human rights, empowers future leaders to navigate complex challenges while upholding the values of equity, fairness, and inclusion.
